What is PaperHero?
PaperHero is an intelligent document management platform that helps you upload, organize, and find your documents using AI. It reads your documents, makes them searchable, and lets you ask questions about your files in plain language.
How do I upload documents?
You can upload documents by dragging and dropping them in the web app, using our Android or iOS mobile app to scan or photograph them, or by forwarding emails with attachments to your personal PaperHero email address.
What file formats are supported?
PaperHero supports PDF, PNG, JPEG, and BMP files. When you upload images, they are automatically converted into searchable PDFs.
How does the AI search work?
Instead of just matching keywords, PaperHero understands the meaning behind your search. You can type a question like "Where is my car insurance?" and it will find the right document - even if those exact words don't appear in the file.
Can I share documents with others?
Yes! You can share folders and documents with family members or friends. You control who can view, edit, or manage each folder with simple permission settings.
Can I access my documents on my phone?
Yes. PaperHero offers native Android and iOS apps for scanning and uploading documents on the go. The web app is also fully responsive and works on any mobile browser.
How is my data protected?
All your documents are end-to-end encrypted. Your decryption keys are protected by your password, so even we can't access your files. You can optionally choose to keep your keys exclusively on your own devices. We support two-factor authentication, and all data is stored on servers in Germany at Hetzner. We are fully GDPR compliant.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime through your account settings. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period, and your data remains available for 30 days after cancellation so you can export everything.
